What is Qigong?
Qigong (pronounced Chee - Gung) is a moving meditation practice that combines breathwork, gentle flowing movements, stretches and visualisations.
Qigong helps move Qi (your energy) through the body which can:
reduce stress, anxiety and fatigue
boost your immune system
improve your mood and focus
invite calm, peace and clarity
It originates from ancient China with roots in Chinese Medicine and Daoism. It is simple and easy to learn and can be done by anyone at any age and fitness level.
Why I’ve created the series
I created this series to support you to feel better in your body and your life. So you can practice wherever you are in the world.
Before I found Qigong I was overwhelmed with life. I was constantly anxious, stressed and tense. I had chronic pain, limited mobility in one arm and was exhausted all the time. The doctors couldn’t find anything wrong with me but I couldn’t accept this was just the way it is.
I needed and wanted to change things.
I’d heard of meditation and its benefits but my racing mind made it almost impossible to practice. Then I discovered Qigong.
The combination of breath work, movement and focusing my mental energy allowed me to soothe my thoughts.
The more I practiced, the more energised I became. I could manage my stress and emotions easier, felt more relaxed and noticed I was happier. My outlook on life improved as did my relationship with myself and others in my world.
Qigong transformed my life, so I learnt how to share it with others. I began teaching in 2019. My students wanted more practices they could do at home outside of classes that would support them to feel energised for their day, release stress and tension and prepare their mind and body for a restful sleep.
